Explore areas of the buildings not on the regular tour as we take you through the nooks and crannies of Zoar Village. Tours will be held: March 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, or 31 and April 4, 5, 6, or 7. Tours begin at 11:00am, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, or 3:00pm. Sunday Tours: 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, or 3:00pm. Cost is $15 per person. Space is limited to 10 people per tour. Reservations are required. No refunds will be issued.

Maifest in Zoar 

Zoar MaifestMay 11, 2019 – 10am – 5pm

Beers, Brats, and Bands! Celebrate the coming of spring with a traditional German festival! German food and drink, German bands, choirs, and dancing, games, make-and-take art projects and a Maypole. 10 am to 5 pm.

Maifest is also the grand opening of the new art exhibit at the Bimeler House, “Sense of Zoar.” This unique exhibit pairs scents with paintings of various locations in Zoar to give viewers a better sense of life in 19th century Zoar Village. The Tuscarawas County Art Guild will be set up throughout the village.

The Zoar Plant Sale will also take place in the Zoar Garden from 8am – 4pm.

Fort Laurens Revolution on the Tuscarawas

46th Annual Zoar Harvest Festival & Antique Show

Harvest FestivalJuly 27 & 28, 2019 – Sat 10-6, Sun 10-5

On July 27 and 28, join Historic Zoar Village for the Antique Show and Artisans tent at the 46th Annual Harvest Festival. More than 60 dealers of high-quality country antiques will be on site selling historic treasures. This is one of the nation’s most prestigious antiques shows, with dealers from across the country sharing unique finds with early American style enthusiasts and decorators. Visitors won’t want to miss an Artisan Showcase tent housing highly-skilled, juried artisans. Handmade folk art, furniture ,and fine crafts will be available for sale, and many booths will feature handcrafting demonstrations.
Additional attractions include: Herding dog and working animal demonstrations; Museum building tours and demonstrations of 19th-century methods in weaving, spinning, blacksmithing and butter churning throughout the complex; Contemporary crafts for sale throughout the village, Horse-drawn wagon rides, and an antique car show on Sunday hosted by the Canton Chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA). Hours are Saturday, July 27 from 10am-5pm and Sunday, July 28, from 10am-4pm. The cost of the event is $10 per person.

Civil War Reenactment –

Civil War Reenactment in ZoarSeptember 21-22, 2019 (Biennial event)

Witness the Battle of the Wilderness when 700+ reenactors set up camp at Zoar and restage a key American Civil War battle at Ohio’s largest Civil War Reeanctment. Enjoy living history figures and sutlers selling Civil War-era goods. Show off your dance steps at the Civil War Ball! Each day features artillery and cavalry demonstrations, and a mock battle. New for 2019 will be the Anvil Tavern, a recreation of a Civil War era tavern. 9 am to 5 pm Saturday; 9 am to 4 pm Sunday. General Admission is $10 per person.

Experience all the joy and cheer of the season during Christmas in Zoar. On Saturday, December 7, and Sunday, December 8, enjoy musical entertainment, a juried craft show, tour the village, and more. While in Zoar, makes sure to visit Belsnickle, Santa, and Kristkind, and take a horse-drawn wagon ride around the village. On Saturday evening, attend a candlelight church service at the Historic Zoar Meeting House (Zoar United Church of Christ), followed by a tree lighting ceremony in the Historic Zoar Garden. Hours are Saturday, December 7 from 11 a.m.- 7 p.m., and Sunday, December 2 from 10:30 – 4 p.m.
